What is the composition of CorrectDeck CX?

CorrectDeck CX is crafted from recovered hardwood fiber and rugged, UV-stabilized polypropylene. CorrectDeck CXcombines a unique polypropylene-based formula with a highly advanced manufacturing process to yield a superior material. CorrectDeck CX was the first composite decking manufacturer to use polypropylene instead of polyethylene. Polypropylene (think of Tupperware® or red gas cans) makes it stronger, stiffer, and lighter than other composites, so it can span longer distances and withstand higher temperatures with less expansion and contraction. What went into the development of CorrectDeck CX?

In listening to the decking marketplace, we learned that there has been a value gap between what people expect of a composite decking product and what is available. We saw a need for a truly low maintenance deck product, with all of the benefits of composite decking but none of the drawbacks (drawbacks like significant color fade, grease staining, and mildew). This product is the only one on the market which solves the three problems composite decking customers complain most about: color fade, staining, and mold/mildew.

Is CorrectDeck CX maintenance free?

CorrectDeck CX with antimicrobial technology is ultra-low maintenance; resisting the mold and mildew that cause stains and discoloration on wood and other decking. Request a Product Brochure

How long will the antimicrobial product protection last?

Antimicrobial protection is built-in during the manufacturing process and will not wash off or wear away. It is engineered to provide continuous antimicrobial product protection for the useful lifetime of the product.

Why can’t I see a distinct protective layer in CorrectDeck CX?

Rather than being a specific ‘layer’, our patented technology actually brings more of the UV, stain resistance, and mildew-resistance additives to the surface. This is continuously blended into the material. (See Illustration) That is why scratching and hardness is not a concern. Several companies that specialize in testing the thickness of co-extrusion layers have not been able to detect a distinct boundary between the wood composite substrate and the cap layer.

Will the surface of CorrectDeck CX peel or wear off?

The surface of CorrectDeck CX will not peel off due to the fact that the surface layer is co-extruded into the wood fiber. Under normal conditions, the surface will last indefinitely. If exposed to high wear or abrasion, some wearing is possible. If any of the substrate becomes exposed, this is no cause for alarm because it contains the same UV stabilizers as the rest of the composition and is not affected.

What happens if the top layer of CX is gouged or damaged enough to expose the substrate?

CorrectDeck offers touch up kits for scratches or gouges in the product that may be purchased at your local CorrectDeck dealer.

How do I match a cut edge to a coated edge of CorrectDeck CX?

CorrectDeck CX color match touch-up pens and ½ pints are available at your local CorrectDeck Dealer.

How much does CorrectDeck CX cost?
We do not set pricing for our dealer network and we do not sell direct to the public, however we work very hard to keep the pricing of CorrectDeck CX as low as we can. In most cases you will find CorrectDeck CX is the most attractively priced product in the 'Ultra-Low Maintenance' market segment where it competes with PVC Vinyl decking. And in general it will be in the price range of the higher grades of wood. The CX technology makes this attractive pricing possible, with its lower cost recycled substrate combined with a high performance surface.
